Summer Stripes

Summer Stripes
Spotted this dress hidden in the racks at the Aritzia store (another score for shopping in-store which is starting to make me rethink my online shopping habits). When I first tried this on in the change room, I felt a tug at the front of my neck before I realized that I was wearing the dress backwards. After turning it around the right way, I didn't actually like the look as much. Since there are no rules in fashion, I went ahead with the purchase so I can wear it backwards.

It's A Wrap

It's A Wrap
As depressing as it sounds, the end of summer is near which is why the weather has been cooling down. On a brighter note, I can now live in this wrap skirt again and finally sport this Wilfred number. This gorgeous knit top was something I picked up a little while back but didn’t get a chance to wear up until now. I wanted to balance out the body-hugging cropped top with a looser-fitting bottom so I went with a scuba skirt.

Dîner en Blanc

Dîner en Blanc
Last night, I attended my very first Dîner en Blanc and experienced something so unique and truly magical. It was a flash-gathering at a secret location that is only revealed on the day of the event. Guests come dressed elegantly in head-to-toe white and experience a chic picnic. The concept originated back in 1988 in Paris and has now grown into a worldwide event.

Lola

Lola
What’s a summer without a loose blouse, hi-low waterfall skirt and panama hat? I wore this to Sunday brunch with Cynthia at Cluny Bistro in the Distillery and the weather was scorching. After moving from table to table, inside to outside, we finally settled back indoors for a cool air-conditioned and bumblebee-free meal. The day was an endless struggle until we ended up here — the architecture of this building was so beautiful and I wish I captured more photos to show for it. The building seems like it’s from a different time, but fits in so nicely in the King East neighbourhood.

Femme Factor

Femme Factor
An easy summer outfit that requires minimal effort, but still exudes a feminine factor. I never thought that I would be the type to sport midi slip dresses because it isn’t exactly form-fitting, but that’s probably what I love most about them now. When you get hot days that feel like 40 degrees celsius, all you want to do is wear as little as possible.

Soft Focus

Soft Focus
Two of my current summer faves: off-the-shoulder tops and panama hats. Both of these were introduced to my closet last summer and I couldn’t help but add more of them. I fell in love with this panama hat at a stand by the harbour about a month ago while locating the ferry for the Grey Goose Boulangerie Bleue Event. I was tempted to pick it up, but was afraid that it would somehow blow away while on the ferry or at the Toronto Island Yacht Club.

Lace Culottes

Lace Culottes
Introducing... my first pair of culottes and the most beautiful pair I've seen. Culottes have been around for awhile but these calf grazing pants took awhile to grow on me. I’m around 5’4 so these pants actually fall at a weird length for me making me appear shorter than I already am. After giving the trend some time, I started to fall in love with them and decided to finally give a pair a try.
